Gauge Chart

In this article:

Gauge allows you to measure and compare your KPIs against fully customizable color-coded targets (speedometer style). 

Usage Example

Great to see how many escalations you have received in a month, set your ranges based on your own limit, or add industry averages to compare yourself against your competition.

Chart Configuration

1. View

Select the view you want to use as the base for your widget. You can use a saved view or select “Embedded View” and create a new one for this widget.

2. App

Choose the application you would like to use for the data for the widget.

3. Filter

You can adjust the filters from a previously saved view or add filters just for this widget.

4. Field

Choose the field you would like to use to base your number widget off of. Only fields within your chosen application will be available.

5. Labels

Lower Limit: Set a minimum amount for the gauge.

Upper Limit: Set a maximum amount for the gauge.

Show Tick Marks: Includes the values of each portion of the gauge.

6. Format

Number Prefix: Add a prefix to the numbers in the widget, from letters to symbols.

Format Large Values: When enabled, large values are condensed. For example, the value $25,000,000 will be formatted as $25M

Show Dial Value: Add the value right in the center of the chart.

Unit Label: You can add text below the Dial Value on your chart.

Color Style: You can choose “value” or “range”. Value provides you with on colour for your chart.

Range gives you the option to choose multiple colours. You can enter in values to define when one color ends and the next begins.

Pointer Options: You can turn the point on or off, and adjust the pointer width, as well as the color.

7. Targets

Target Value: Assign the target value that will be identifiable in the chart as a line.

Line Color:Use the color picker to assign a color to the line. 

Label: Optional. If empty it will show the target value. 

8. Comparison

Clicking this checkbox will give you the ability to add another calculation for comparison. You can choose from the filters you enabled earlier and decide on the parameters for displaying the number. 

For example, you could choose to display the total revenue for the current quarter in the main number while displaying the previous quarter’s revenue in the comparison.
